Nordsoen Oceanarium, Denmark

In Denmark, in the town of Hirtshals, there is the famous Oceanarium of the North Sea. Nordsoen Oceanarium is a unique entertainment center. A memorable visit is guaranteed to everyone. The total volume of its tanks is 4 500 cubic meters; they are inhabited by 70 species of fish. To some this collection may seem quite modest, but each of the inhabitants of this amazing oceanarium is the rarest resident of the sea. Only in Nordsoen Oceanarium, you can simultaneously watch several sunfishes, slow movements of which are fascinating.

Opening of the Oceanarium was held in 1984. Among its outstanding features, there is a huge aquarium resembling an amphitheater.  The height of its glass is 8 meters. It’s very comfortable to watch the flocks of mackerel and herring, as well as a huge shark through it. Every day, an amazing show is held for guests of oceanarium. They can watch a diver plunging into the aquarium to feed the fish.

In addition to the huge aquarium, there is a large outdoor pool that is home to seals. Travellers with children will be interested to visit the aquarium in a warm season, when Krabbekysten interactive zone is open for youngest visitors. It is a large playground with a pond, petting swimming pool, and a pier, where you can catch crabs.
