The museum in Cairo is very large, there are 25 galleries in its building, each of which represents artifacts of a certain time period. Islamic Art Museum, Egypt In the museum you can also see rare manuscripts of the Koran, more than 60 000 exhibits are presented in the museum. This unique cultural center is one of the oldest in the world, its opening was held in 1881. The variety of exhibits, presented in the museum walls, is amazing. Here you can see both ancient weapons, and ancient tombstones, and, discovered during archaeological excavations, coins, and jewelry.

One of the most unusual expositions is the exposition of marble fountains and rare manuscripts, incredible beauty handmade carpets are produced in the galleries. Among other unique exhibits, it is worth to note the huge papyrus, made up of 12 separate parts. Its length is 2.5 meters. This papyrus is one of the largest. The text, which is written on it, dates from the year 758. To inspect all the priceless exhibits of the museum you need to spend a few days, usually, a tour of the museum lasts at least three hours.
