St Stephens Cathedral, Austria The Bishop's carved pulpit is also preserved in the cathedral. It was installed in it in the 15th century. The structure of the cathedral is also special. Six independent chapels are equipped in it. Part of the cathedral was converted into a museum not so long ago. Several dozen tombs of great people are located in the cathedral. The tomb of Duke Rudolf IV who was the founder of the cathedral is among them. The catacombs are one of the most interesting parts of the cathedral. They are located under its Eastern half.

They are nothing more than an old underground cemetery. It was founded by order of Emperor Charles VI in the early 18th century. The Emperor forbade burying people in the old city cemeteries. More than 11,000 people were buried underground during his reign, according to rough estimates. Vienna Cathedral never ceases to amaze with its luxurious design and impressive size. The height of its southern tower is more than 136 meters. Ancient coats of arms adorn the roof of the cathedral after the last reconstruction. This is not typical of most old churches.
