Mir Castle, Belarus Most likely, it was built for reasons of prestige. Therefore, the castle had such a luxurious and solemn appearance initially. Nevertheless, the fortress actively participated in all the battles that fell on these places later. Residents associate many interesting legends with the ancient fortress today. The historical museum is located in the castle. Its employees claim that they have repeatedly seen the Ghost of the White Maiden in the corridors. Many visitors to the museum are also eager to see it.

According to another legend, Mir and Nesvizh castles were originally connected by a tunnel. Its length was more than 30 km. This tunnel was blown up in 1812. Russian troops managed to hide the treasures in it before that. Many researchers have been trying to find them for more than 200 years. But they never managed to find out the location of the secret tunnel. You can see the beautiful pond next to the castle today. Prince Nikolai Svyatopolk-Mirsky ordered to equip it here at the end of the 19th century. A blooming apple orchard had to be cut down to make a pond. This was considered a great sin according to popular belief. Locals consider this pond a cursed place even today. Next - Natural History Museum
