Villa Madama, Italy The palace was designed by him for the cardinal. It was truly grand. It was decided to build it on one of the gentle slopes of Monte Mario hill. Gorgeous gardens were laid out around the palace. There was also an open-air theater on its grounds. The combination of terraces descending to the Tiber River has become one of the main architectural features of the complex. Unfortunately, the luxury villa was never completed. Today, only the surviving records and drawings allow learning about the incredible plans of the architect.

Raffaello managed to work on the construction of the villa for only two years. He died in 1520. The disciples of the great master tried to continue his work. But they did not manage to realize all the unique plans of the teacher. The historic building belongs to the Spanish government today. Important official meetings are held in it. Guided tours of the extensive garden are available for tourists on some days off from various activities. You can visit this unique attraction only by prior arrangement. Next - Palatul Parlamentului
