The oldest and one of the most beautiful flower clock in the world can be found in the city park in Edinburgh. This amazing clock was constructed in 1903. At the opening, it had only an hour hand. The minute hand was added in about a year. More than a hundred years, the amazing structure has being one of the main symbols of the city.
The installation strikes with its design. Designers used dozens of different plants types, which allowed to form very fine patterns and lay symbolic inscriptions on beds. The author of the very first clock in Edinburgh was the experienced gardener John Marchetti, who was involved in designing urban parks. Another creator was the watchmaker James Ritchie.
