On the territory of the Queulat Puyuguapi National Park in Chile is an amazing waterfall, named the Hanging Glacier, whose name is literally translated as 'waterfall of the hanging glacier'. The name completely reflects the main feature of the waterfall - it really flows from the Ventisquero Colgante glacier. The height of this strange waterfall is about 80 meters. Usually, it consists of two streams of water, but sometimes, a third stream appears in the period of peak melting of the glacier.
Water from the glacier feeds one of the local rivers and contributes to the formation of an amazing landscape along its banks. Obviously, the best time to visit the Hanging Glacier waterfall will be summer months, when the glacier melts most actively and allows streams of water to gain full power. It is noteworthy, that the pools formed by the waterfall are open for swimming. Not everyone risks to venture into this entertainment even in the summer, as the water in the waterfall is very cold.
