In Texas, the United States, there is the great Hamilton Pool Preserve. It can be named one of the most amazing and picturesque places on earth. The huge natural swimming pool has been formed thousands of years ago by erosion. The pond is surrounded by incredibly beautiful limestone rocks. The basin is filled with water of fantastic emerald color. The landscape is complemented by moss and ferns covering rocks. One of the main features of the pool is a 15-meter waterfall. It’s possible to admire this waterfall all year round, as it never dries up completely, even during drought.

The pool was named in honor of the family of Hamilton that has been owning it for many years. The emerald pool attracted attention of tourists in the 60-ies of the last century. During the warm season, people from all the surrounding towns gathered there to relax by the crystal-clear lake. Over time, a number of travelers has become so great, that the local authorities have decided to buy a swimming pool and control the traffic, so that the natural object won’t lost its original beauty.

While the access to the pool was open, the quality of water became much worse. Experts believe that over the years, the water will be cleansed by natural means, but an access to the lake must be closed.
