Staronova Synagoga, Czech Republic An old foundation was found at the construction site. According to one legend, angels brought stones for it to the bank of Vltava. These stones were part of a temple destroyed in Jerusalem in the past. Subsequently, the majestic synagogue went through many difficult times. It managed to survive during severe fires only by a miracle. The building also survived a large-scale slum clearance. It took place in the 19th century. Many ornaments were brought to the house of worship in the 13th century. They have also been preserved to this day.

It is noteworthy that initially, the light entered the synagogue hall only through small narrow windows. Visitors can see them even today. The hall was always dark for this reason. The first bronze chandeliers and lamps were installed here only in the 17th century. One of the main decorations of the interior is considered to be ancient plant ornaments today. They are carved in stone by hand. The best masters from different schools worked on their creation. They are completely preserved in their original form since the opening of the prayer house. A beautiful historical park is located next to a religious monument. You can see old sculptures there. Next - Synagogue Hasidut Belz
