The old industrial town of Nevyansk is located in the Urals. There is a leaning tower among its unique architectural monuments. Construction of the Tower of Nevyansk began in 1721. It lasted a little more than three years. The famous Russian nobleman Akinfiy Demidov was the initiator of its construction. The tower has a beautiful exterior design. Its height is 57.5 meters. Its deviation from the vertical axis reached 1.85 meters today.
The author of the project of the old tower is unknown. It was used for a variety of purposes after construction was completed. One of the main guard posts of the town was located in the tower. It also served as a bell tower. The archive of local factories was located in it at a certain period. The tower was used as a laboratory and even a prison after that.
