Gateway Arch Elevator, United States
From series “Top 16 Most Exotic Elevators and Lifts in the World”Year: 1965. Height: 192 meters.
One of the main attractions of Saint-Louis is the memorial with the symbolic name 'Gate of the West' - a beautiful high arch, on the top of which the viewing platform is located. There is only one way to climb up to the lookout platform - go with the special elevator. The elevator is a 'train' consisting of eight cars, in each of which 5 people can drive once.
The elevator goes inside the monument. Thanks to the small glass panels on the cabin doors, all visitors can literally appreciate the structure of the monument from the inside. To the top, the elevator takes about 4 minutes, and down - 3 minutes. Although the elevator is on the bow, all passengers stay in the comfortable vertical position during the trip. The comfort of the trip is due to special structure of the cabins and the torque.
