Elevator in Eiffel Tower, France The first elevators for the tower were designed in 1899, by the company Fives-Lill. Each of the five elevators of the tower is unique and has the secrets. The oldest elevator of the tower is located in its eastern support. It can carry up to 46 people uniquely and travels at speeds of 2 m / s. Until 1986, the old elevator operated with a hydraulic system. After the new equipment, the interesting museum was opened in the hydraulic department.

In the western support of the tower is also a historical elevator, which is currently closed due to the reconstruction. After the reconstruction, the elevator will transport up to 150 people uniquely. According to the approximate calculations, the modernization of the elevator costs about 25 million euros. The central elevator is the most famous and ensures the direct connection between all floors. By 1983 the central lift had to be closed for the winter period.
