In Moscow, fans of walking through abandoned places can visit Hovrinskaya hospital, which some locals call the Residence of Evil. Construction of the hospital, which was planned to serve about 1 300 people, has begun in 1980. Five years later, construction work stopped. During its existence the hospital has not worked even a single day. The first floors of the huge unfinished edifice are flooded today, and the building itself is slowly sinking into the ground.

According to official data, construction of the hospital was discontinued because of adverse geological conditions, but the locals have an explanation of what happened. If you look at old maps of Moscow, you can see that once there was a big cemetery in these places. That’s why this attractive place was empty for so many years. No institution dared to build facilities there.

In recent decades, the abandoned hospital attracted stalkers and extreme tourists. In a certain period of time, training of rescue service officers was carried there. The unfinished hospital is considered unsafe, not only because of its dilapidated state. The building attracts both curious tourists and looters. In recent years, the grim building of Hovrinskaya hospital is under heavy guard, so it’s not easy to get to its territory.
