Port Moresby, New Guinea
From series “Top 11 Dangerous Spots for Adrenaline-Seekers”
The port city of Port Moresby is located in the eastern part of New Guinea. It is the capital of the state and at the same time one of the most dangerous cities in the world. If you look at the city from a bird's-eye view, it won’t seem scary and dangerous. There are extensive beaches and large streets with squares surrounded by greenery. Near-hand, the city looks completely different. A significant part of the territory is occupied by the slums neighbouring with huge dumps.
It is difficult to imagine that the government and the president of New Guinea reside there. Port Moresby is literally steeped in the robbery. An incredible number of gangs operate there. Constant skirmishes between them make the coastal town the most dangerous capital in the world. It’s not recommended for tourists to visit Port Moresby. A walk through its territory for a foreigner is equivalent to a walk through a cage with hungry lions.
