Lijiang district is largely focused on tourists. There are many ethnic restaurants, souvenir shops and stores. In 1997, the historic quarter of Lijiang was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered one of the most colorful and picturesque historic districts in the country. Many tourists are attracted to this beautiful spot by a market where they can buy amazing souvenirs and taste real local delicacies in a cafe.
