New Zealand is rich with wonderful lakes that attract tourists. One of them - Pukaki - has placed on the South Island. Pukaki is a glacier lake that became popular thanks to the deep blue watercolor. More than that, it is beautiful and very clear. Its whole area is about 178,7 km2 and it has placed at 500 meters high above the sea level. The reservoirs length is 15 km and width 8 km.
Some time ago Pukaki lake has become a part of the huge hydroelectric system. Specialists thought about the ecologic indexes and took care about the lake’s clearness. Locals were glad to receive the steady electricity. It has become a real step forward of globalization in this place.
