Craigievar Castle, Scotland
From series “The Greatest Castles of Scotland”Year: 1626.
Craigievar Castle is placed on the territory of Aberdeenshire. It is one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland. The seven-stored castle was finished in 1626, originally it was built as a residence of Sempill family. The great castle with marvellous towers and façade is painted in a light rose colour. This is a good example of baronial Scottish style. Sempill family was owners of this castle until 1963 and then it came under the responsibility of the National Trust for Scotland.
Craigievar Castle is a unique castle because there weren’t held many battles. 400-year-old castle has saved its unique elements of decoration. During the excursion, visitors can see a Great Hall that earlier was used for solemn events. If tourists look at the balconies for the musicians they will see numerous secret ways and staircases.
