Caernarfon Castle is the most tremendous Scottish castles. In the 11th century at this place was a wooden castle in Normannic style. In 1283 it was decided to build a new castle that was finished only in 1330. Even now the castle adores with its power and strength. There were saved high defensive walls with towers and special galleries for archers and other unique elements.

Caernarfon Castle, Scotland Nowadays the castle is using for temporary exhibitions and concerts. On its territory, you can find quite an interesting museum. There are exhibited weapons, which were used in the medieval time, and other outstanding historical artefacts. In 1986 the wonderful Caernarfon Castle was included in a list of the UNESCO World Heritage.

This historical building is very important for local people. Since the 14th century, this palace is a family seat of Princes of Wales. The castle has a great ceremonial hall with a throne. It is still used for the coronation of the king’s sons. Caernarfon Castle has quite complex architecture. It has a huge inner yard and a lot of intricate passages and terraces. Some parts of the castle are connected with suspension bridges. If you want to see all the hidden parts of the fortress, you have to take more than two excursions.
