Wilshire Boulevard Temple, USA

You can see a very interesting temple on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. It is the most striking example of Byzantine architecture in the city. The beautiful building with a huge dome and rosette windows was built as a synagogue for the local Jewish community in 1862. Construction and decoration of the building were fully completed in 1929. The height of the spectacular building is more than 40 meters. The diameter of its dome is about 30 meters. The huge dome has a yellow-orange finish. Therefore, it looks most impressive on a sunny day.

Massive wooden doors have been preserved in the ancient temple. You can see a large rosette window above its central entrance. The synagogue has managed to preserve several original elements of interior decoration over the years of its existence. Colored stained glass windows, as well as wall paintings, are of particular value.

The smallest pieces of glass were used in the decoration of the walls of the synagogue. There are about 6,000 of them. It is noteworthy that glass for finishing was made in the early 20th century using the same technology that was used for finishing European cathedrals in the 13th century. The luxurious temple is located on Wilshire Boulevard. It is considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful synagogues in the United States today.
