Yumbulagang Monastery, China Even these days, the Yumbulagang monastery is home to several monks. Visitors will have an opportunity to see incredibly beautiful ancient frescoes, which show motifs from the early history of Tibet. During the Cultural Revolution, the monastery has been badly damaged, but it was completely restored in 1983. The building on top of a hill is surrounded by marvelous mountain scenery. You can only get there by foot following a winding paved road.
