Egituysky Datsan, Russia

Many important religious sites are located in Russia. Egituysky datsan is in the Republic of Buryatia, near the village of Egita. It was built in 1826. The main gem of the datsan is the Zandan Zhuu statue, Buddha made of sandalwood. According to a legend, it is the only statue made in Shakyamuni Buddha's lifetime. Its age is more than 2 500 years.
Egituysky datsan is very amazing in itself. It is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It is located in an incredibly picturesque area, on the banks of the river Marakta, so it’s always recommended to include a walk around the neighborhood to a sightseeing tour. Many important historical facts are linked to the ancient datsan. Shortly after its opening, a typography was arranged on its territory. It was considered one of the most advanced in the country.
