Alkhanay National Park is one of the youngest in Russia, it was founded in 1999. The park occupies an area of over 138 hectares. It is famous not only for its unique landscapes and outstanding spiritual treasures. Here, aside of Christian relics, you can see Buddhist shrines. A visit will be complemented with walks along the fabulously beautiful places.
It is amazing to go to the Shoymprol Shodon stupa, inside of which you can see the traditional Buddhist attributes, including a drum with mantras. This stupa has wonderful acoustics and can boast with unusual features. When one person prays inside, outside there’s an effect that someone turned on the audio recording of chorus. While riding the local steppe, you can see a lot of miniature stupas and visit the datsan that is one of the oldest in the world. This datsan can boast the 8-meter high statue of Buddha. Everyone can visit and explore these priceless relics.
