Le Phare de Kereon lighthouse, known as the "Sea castle", is one of the few lighthouses where the keeper lived till the beginning of the 21st century. Nowadays the tower works and its all the processes are automated. The lighthouse has been building for 9 years and finally was finished in 1916 on Men Tense rocky island.

Le Phare de Kereon, France The area, where the lighthouse is situated, is not very safe because local waters have very strong steams. The tower was named in honour of the famous French officer's predecessor. The officer has donated a great sum of money for the building works at the beginning of the 20th century. This lighthouse is the youngest of the working towers in France. It has an adorable inside decoration: a large hall with oak parquet and a spiral staircase that is decorated with the art mosaics. The lighthouse's walls are also faced with wooden dados, made from Hungarian oak.

The lighthouse has four furnished rooms and an amazing study. It was provided with the electricity in 1972, however, the light keeper continued to live there for several decades. Nowadays a lot of tourists want to see the inside decoration of one of the most adorable French lighthouses. Excursions for tourists are organized only in warm seasons and in good weather conditions.
