Family car rental in Chicago

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in USA traditionally include the following vehicles: Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevrolet Impala, Oldsmobile Alero, Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Avensis, Nissan Primera and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Chicago borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Chicago might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Chicago!

Driving Advices for USA – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Local drivers rarely attach a vehicle number on the front side of a car. It is more common to see original labels with text greetings, names of pets and other funny signs there. Motorists of each state have their own motto, which can also be seen on the front sign instead of a number.
Drivers, who do not violate traffic rules and do not behave defiantly on the roads of the country, should definitely not be afraid of any punishments. If a serious violation of the traffic rules has happened, you need to respond calmly to requests of the local police, stop your car and stay inside the car.
Do not get out of the car as such actions can be considered as an attempt to escape. It is recommended to wait for a police officer, greet him politely and answer all the questions calmly. If he asks you to get out of the car, this must be done without any fast movements. Do not even try to give a bribe to the police! This will be considered as a serious crime.
