Chicago Midway International Airport is the second largest airport of international status in the state of Illinois. It was built in 1923 for the purpose of mail transportation. The number of hotels, available to passengers, are nestled in the territory of the airport. They are within 3 minute walking distance from the airport and can be reached by a free shuttle. These include the Hampton Inn, the Hilton Garden Inn, and the Holiday Inn. Such hotels as the Best Western Inn & Suites, the Chicago Marriott, the Clarion Hotel, the Hyatt Place, the Courtyard by Marriott, and the Fairfield Inn by Marriott are also positioned nearby.
