Utica was the first city colonized by the Phoenicians. This happened around the 9th century BC. Nowadays, thousands of travellers arrive to Utica see the ruins of colonial buildings and ancient Phoenician cemeteries. Hammamet is another popular destination rich in entertainment and cultural landmarks. Guests of the city are welcome to attend The International Cultural Center, several theatres and museums. During a walk on beautiful streets of the city you will see many beautiful mosques on your way, with the Grand Mosque being the oldest one. It was constructed yet in the 13th century. Travelers with kids are recommended to visit the local zoo where they will see exotic birds and animals. Those tourists, who prefer active rest, will find much fun in Tabarka as this city is famous for its large sports centers.
