Car Rental in Malmo

SUV rental in Malmo

The most popular SUV models offered at rental locations in Malmo are: Hyundai Tuscon, Toyota Landcruiser, Suzuki Jimny, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Rav4 and others.

While selecting your preferred model of an off-road vehicle, please examine the rental conditions. In particular, those requirements that concern credit cards – when it comes to renting an expensive car, sometimes offices in Sweden ask information about two credit cards.

Before signing the contract in the rental office upon arrival, check that the invoice figures match with figures in your voucher.

Once the vehicle is assigned, inspect it carefully before leaving the parking. Crossovers and SUVs are often used in tough road conditions, therefore scratches and other exteriour defects are inevitable. Due to this, it is important to check and specify all existing defects in your rental documents.

If you plan to use an off-road vehicle in the mountains, it is recommended to order snow chains. This will save you from unexpected incidents. Other important equipment in Sweden are mandatory child seats for travellers with children. OrangeSmile.com wishes you a safe trip and green lights on the roads of Malmo!

Driving Advices for Sweden – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Within the city borders, drivers must not exceed the speed of 50 km/h, and in the residential areas the maximum allowed speed is 30 km/h. On country roads, it is permitted to drive with the speed of up to 70 km/h, on speedways – up to 90 km/h, and on highways – up to 110 km/h.
Local drivers are very diligent when it comes to speed limits. Foreign guests are recommended to follow their example, because all infringements of the traffic regulations may result in heavy fines. In addition to standard signs indicating the speed limit, you will see special electronic boards on all major roads of the country. These boards display the speed of approaching cars.
On the roads of Sweden, overtaking is allowed on the left side only. If a vehicle that moves behind is about to make a manoeuvre, it is recommended to move as close to the right side of the road as possible, giving enough space for the vehicle to overtake.

Enjoying SUV and sightseeing of Malmo
Malmo has a tiny but quite cozy historical district which is concentrated on three major squares: Stora Torget, Lilla Torg and Gustav Adolf ones. These scenic squares will be perfect places for hiking and plenty of landmarks and sights will turn the vacation even more exciting and interesting. The main sight of the city is considered to be the building of Turning Torso. Literally the name of the skyscraper can be interpreted as rotating torso or core. The height of the building is 190m. The skyscraper design was developed by the famous legendary architect Santiago Calatrava. Today his majestic creation is the most impressive and significant architectural landmark of the Malmo.

A few beautiful buildings are located around the ancient Lilla Torg square. These were built in the 17th – 18th centuries. The characteristic feature of the buildings of that period is fancy turrets. Such turrets are decorating almost every building set in the neighborhood of the square. The oldest building of the city is considered to be St. Peter’s Church which was established in the 14th century. This ascetic and grave Gothic style building features unique interior decoration. The halls of the church have excellently preserved the fresco paintings with the images of the saints which have been decorating the church since its establishment.
