Car Rental in Mallorca

Family car rental in Mallorca

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Spain traditionally include the following vehicles: Mercedes C Class, Mercedes A Class, Toyota Avensis, Hyundai Sonata, Renault Scenic, Renault Megane and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Mallorca borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Mallorca might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Mallorca!

Driving Advices for Spain – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
In many cities, pedestrian crossings are organized on structures that are raised above the level of the road. Passing them at high speed is very unpleasant, so one should slow down before such a crossing.
There are automatic traffic lights installed at the entrances to some small towns. By default, they can always show a red signal. The traffic light switches to green when a car stops near it or when a car moves on a given section of a road with allowed speed.
Many roads have special lanes for cyclists. These lanes are separated by special markings. Quite often, in addition to the marking, these lanes are separated by a special rubber lining. Vehicles are prohibited from driving on these lanes.

Traveling in Mallorca with family car
Fans of painting would like a museum called the Pilar and Joan MirĂ³ Foundation, which bears the name of a famous Catalan artist. This museum was founded in 1981. It houses a rich collection of paintings, sculptures and ceramic products created by Juan MirĂ³. The founder of the museum is the artist's wife named Pilar. She opened the museum after her husband's death right in his former studio. Now, the museum often holds interesting exhibitions and master classes.
Of great interest is the ancient La Granja Manor, as well as the historical museum located in it. This chic villa, surrounded by a lush tropical garden, was built in the 17th century. Now in its walls, an interesting collection of historical exhibits are kept, and on the territory of the villa there is an excellent restaurant of national cuisine.

Among the most large-scale historical buildings of Majorca, it is worth noting the Almudena Cathedral. It was built in the 14th century and is a vivid example of Moorish architecture. Originally, the huge building was the residence of the Viziers. Later, the castle was occupied by the Knights of Majorca, and afterwards the building was converted into a royal residence. This status remains strong even now. Important political events and meetings are held there. For more than 500 years, the fortress has managed to maintain its spectacular and unapproachable appearance.
