Minivan rental in Barcelona

Typical models of the minivan/minibus class in Barcelona are: Citroen Picasso, Citroen Jumper 8 seater, Citroen C8 Tdi, VW Touran, Peugeot 807 7 seater, Opel Zafira and others.

Standard capacity of a minivan in Spain is up to 9 people (8+1 formula), traditionally providing seven or eight passenger seats. The capacity of a minibus may vary from 9 to 15 people.

Please note, that in order to rent in Spain a vehicle with capacity which exceeds 8 passengers, you would need a driving license of the corresponding category.

Minivan dimensions are quite unusual for an ordinary driver, which sometimes leads to appearance of scratches and dents during unsuccessful manoeuvring or parking. Therefore, we encourage you to order full coverage of insurance franchise during your booking, or directly at the rental office in Barcelona.

Before leaving the parking garage in Barcelona, inspect the minivan for exteriour defects and other signs of damage together with the office representative and mark the found defects found in your rental documents.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you a great driving experience on the roads of Spain!

Driving Advices for Spain – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
There are truly reckless drivers on the roads, who enjoy organizing races and dislike speed limits. It is not recommended to follow their example, as well as to stay on the way of these enthusiastic and excited drivers.
Pedestrians are often not less dangerous than other participants of traffic. They can step on "zebra crossing" despite the fact that there are rapidly approaching cars on the road. Drivers should be particularly careful near pedestrian crossings.
Pedestrians also often become the main reason for accidents. They can calmly cross the road, without paying any attention to cars that have collided because of them.

Travelling in minivan through Barcelona
Indigenous people of Barcelona are very gallant and very serious. They are open for communication and have a wonderful sense of humor. The locals are very friendly to visitors and will gladly help them in most difficult situations. Many travellers, who visit Spain for the first time, are scared of the way of communication, which is peculiar to the Spaniards. The usual arguing between two good friends can be taken as a quarrel - the local residents are very emotional and impulsive. Such "noisiness", which is common among citizens, is hard to associate with kindness and openness in communication of these people.

Spaniards have never been very punctual. This national trait is not a secret to anyone and so it is a typical reason for numerous jokes. Residents of Barcelona are accustomed to have a very late lunch, so local cafes start filling with visitors only after the noon. Dinners here are also fairly late, so many restaurants are open until midnight. When communicating with local residents, you should try to avoid political topics, and in any case not to talk about personal life - these topics are considered a taboo here. You should not start controversy about the corrida (bullfighting), as the locals are intolerant to the even the slightest criticism of national peculiarities.
