FAQ on the rental process

What to visit around: Evangelia Wrecks near Tulcea
Evangelia is a one more mysterious wrecked ship. It ran upon the sands near the Romanian shores, not far from Costinesti town in 1968. There is some evidence that the ship got aground at the disposal of the owner. According to the rumours, he wanted to get the insurance proceeds. At that time when the catastrophe has happened, there was a fog-bank on the shore, although the sea was calm. After the accident, all ship equipment was thoroughly checked. No one failure was fixed.

The dry-cargo ship has an outstanding story of the building. It was built in 1941 and was named Saxon Star 2. This dry cargo ship was built at the Harland & Wolff Ltd shipyard, where the Titanic was built. During the war, this cargo was used for transportation of wounded soldiers. From 1946 until 1958 it was used as a cargo shipping. In 1959 the cargo ship was sold to the Greece company and renamed in "Evangelia". The ship is 135 meters long, in the middle of the 20th century it was one of the largest dry-cargo ships in the world. Today this abandoned ship is open for everybody.
