Car Rental in Fez

Family car rental in Fez

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Morocco traditionally include the following vehicles: Renault Scenic, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Elantra, Renault Megane, BMW 3 Series, Toyota Camry and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Fez borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Fez might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Fez!

Driving Advices for Morocco – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
In Morocco, travelers are traditionally attracted by beautiful mountain roads that feature breathtaking and unique landscapes. Roads laid in the mountains are extremely complex, so inexperienced drivers are not recommended to drive on them. If you still want to enjoy the beauty of the mountain region, do not forget to take some warm clothes to the trip, as it can be pretty cool in the mountains even during the daytime.
Even in distant corners of the mountain region drivers will be certainly delighted with one fact – there is a huge number of souvenir shops and restaurants near roads. You will find no difficulty finding a place to stay there.
When planning a route, you should take into account that you will simply not be able to move at the speed of more than 40 km/h on some highways. The reason for this is in a huge number of horse-drawn carts and trucks. Therefore, your trip can take much longer than you have originally planned.

Traveling in Fes with family car
The most significant attractions of Fez are concentrated in the medina of Fes el-Bali (Arabic for Old Fez), the oldest district of the city. It presents hundreds of religious buildings, several museums, and a countless number of shopping pavilions, the visits to which are often successfully combined with city tours by tourists. The second medina, Fes el-Jdid , is also full of interesting sites to explore. Sightseeing fans will surely like the so-called New Fez - the youngest part of the city. Andalusian Mosque stands out among the hundreds of religious sites in Fez. Built in 1321, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the city. Its minaret is painted in white and green tones and is distinguished by an impressive height. The mosque is also notable for its rich interior decoration.
In Fez, there is the oldest educational institution in the world - the University of Al Quaraouiyine ( University Al-Karaouine ) founded in 859. Interestingly, the founder of the university was a woman - Fatima al-Fihri. Today, the university is the most prestigious in the country, many prominent Moroccan politicians have left its walls. Travelers are primarily interested in visiting the university's eponymous Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque ( Mosque Al-Karaouine ), which is the largest in North Africa. It can accommodate over 20,000 parishioners at one time. The mosque houses one of the most significant religious objects of Fez - the tomb of Idris II, the founder of the city.

Another important symbol of the Morrocan city is the Bab Bou Jeloud Gate that serves as the main entrance to the medina of Fes el-Bali. The landmark built relatively recently, at the beginning of the 20th century, is among the city's most beautiful architectural structures. Painted in white-blue colors, it is decorated with rich ornaments and is the newest city gate.
