Car Rental in Essaouira

Family car rental in Essaouira

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Morocco traditionally include the following vehicles: VW Passat, Renault Scenic, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Toyota Avensis, Hyundai Elantra and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Essaouira borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Essaouira might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Essaouira!

Previous hints
If in the territory of large cities you will see many petrol stations, a ride in the country must be made with full tank only. Petrol stations can be regularly found only on motorways and national roads, while on less important and busy roads there may be no petrol stations at all.
You should also take into consideration that not all petrol stations may have the fuel you need. If city petrol stations accept non-cash payments, petrol stations in remote areas are unlikely to accept credit cards. Therefore, it is important to stock up on paper money and coins in small denominations. Petrol station staff is also extremely reluctant to give change.
On the territory of settlements the maximum permitted speed is 40 - 60 km/h (depending on the limiter set on the road). On country roads you drive with the speed of 100 km/h, and on highways the maximum allowed speed is 120 km/h. As it has been noted earlier, not all local drivers follow the established speed limits strictly.
