Car Rental in Kuala Lumpur

Economy car rental in Kuala Lumpur

The most popular models representing the mini, compact, and economy car segments in Kuala Lumpur are: Toyota Aygo, Chevrolet Matiz, Hyundai Atos, Honda Brio, Hyundai Accent, Hyundai Getz and others.

When hiring a budget hatchback, it is definitely worth saving on insurance deposit (franchise). Deposits on small cars in Malaysia vary from 100 to 1.000 euro/dollars. Check the rental conditions of each car in your selection to find a vehicle with a minimum deposit.

If your routes in Malaysia are foreseen to pass through hilly areas or mountains, it is not recommended to consider very small cars for rental. Their engines are usually insufficient for a confident driving on the roads with long or steep climbs.

At the rental office in Kuala Lumpur, consider to take a 'Breakdown Assistance' package or ask an officer for a contact data to use in case of a vehicle breakdown. Cheap cars are sometimes unpredictable in operation.

Upon receipt of the rental invoice, please check that all the information, as well as the final payment amount do match the data in your voucher.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you a safe and great trip to Kuala Lumpur!

Driving Advices for Malaysia – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Traffic is very intense in popular resort areas of the country. Surprisingly, these busy roads help foreign motorists get accustomed to peculiarities of local roads. As it is nearly impossible to move quickly in heavy traffic, the traffic there becomes more organized.
Local drivers are distinguished by quite an accurate driving style. They tend to be very attentive and careful on the road. Thank to such behavior, local drivers are able to avoid many road accidents. Locals treat foreign drivers with understanding.
Another important feature that should be noticed here – there are virtually no signs of priority on Malaysian roads. In most cases, drivers stick to the rule of the “left hand” – they give way to vehicles that move on the left.
