One of the main cultural sites of Palanga is the Amber Museum opened in 1963. The museum is currently housed in a majestic ancient palace, which previously belonged to Count Feliks Tyszkiewicz. Within its walls is a rich collection of beautiful amber products created by the most famous jewelers and artists of Lithuania.
The museum is located in a beautiful botanical garden founded in 1897 by the order of Count Tyszkiewicz. The charming garden is interesting not only for the variety of rare plants but also for its unique antique decorations. Here you can find sculptures of the late 19th century, an artificial grotto and a rotunda where classical concerts are regularly held. In the vast garden, there is a pond with ducks and swans.

The city has preserved several beautiful religious attractions, including the Most Holy Virgin Mary's Ascension Church. It was projected and built in 1907 by the famous architect K. Strandman. Now the old church is a unique Neo-Gothic monument. Since its foundation, the church has managed to preserve not only an original appearance but also its original interior decoration.

In the warm season, climbing to the Birute's Hill, which is the most important peak of the region, is extremely popular among tourists. This picturesque place is shrouded in many interesting stories and legends. It is believed that local people kept a sacred fire on top of the hill in ancient times. The main attraction of the hill today is a miniature red-brick chapel built in 1869. At the top of the hill, there is a park where you can admire centuries-old trees and rare plants, as well as appreciate the panorama of the city from several natural viewing platforms.
