In the city, the majority of parking lots are paid. It is possible to use them for free only on Sundays. In Zagreb, you will find parking lots of three types - red, yellow and green. Red parking lots are located in the center of the city and they are the most expensive. As a rule, it is possible to leave a car for no more than an hour at such parking lots.
Yellow and green parking lots are located at some distance from the center. It is permitted to leave cars at them for two and three hours respectively. All parking lots are equipped with special machines, through which the payments are made.
The ticket obtained through the ticket machine should be placed in a prominent place on the windshield of the car. Do not forget to return to the parking lot in time. If you leave your car for a longer time than required, the car’s wheels will be locked, and you will be able to get your car back once you pay the fine, the amount of which varies from 100 to 300 kuna.
