Car Rental in Montego Bay

Family car rental in Montego Bay

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Jamaica traditionally include the following vehicles: Ford Taurus, Honda Accord, Pontiac Grand Prix, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, Dodge Stratos and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Montego Bay borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Montego Bay might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Montego Bay!

When travelling on roads of Jamaica, make sure to fasten seat belts. None of locals follows this rule, but foreign drivers are recommended to do that for their own safety.
It is not recommended to drive on roads of Jamaica at night. As it has been noted above, even in the dark cars can move on a highway with the lights turned off. Country roads often have no lightning at all, and this fact makes the situation even more complicated.
You will see a lot of public transport on local roads. Buses, fixed-run taxis and ordinary taxis ply on city and country roads. Needless to say, they are another source of serious danger for drivers.

Both local residents and visitors to the city enjoy strolling through Sam Sharpe Square named after the famous fighter for independence. Today, the main decoration of the square is a monument to Sam Sharpe. Here you can also see a small stone building, which used to be a prison. The city's most significant religious landmark is St. James Parish Church. Constructed in the best tradition of the Georgian style, it is not accidentally considered one of the most beautiful churches on the island. The beautiful church containing interesting religious artifacts has preserved its original appearance.

The historical Town House houses one of the most popular hotels, and the history of this building is truly fascinating. It originally belonged to the wealthy merchant's family, and later to a local priest. The most mysterious period in the villa's history falls on the time when it was owned by masons. It is believed that they opened the first hotel here. Today, all the history fans spend at least one day in this unusual hotel shrouded in historical charm.
