FAQ on the rental process

Drive to large neighbour of Lacce - Brindisi
Another interesting castle that you should visit is the Castello Aragonese, also called Castello Rosso or Castello Alfonsino. This castle was built in 1481 to protect the city from the east, in place of Benedictine abbey, on a separate island. The building is notable for the fact that the castle has been perfectly preserved up to today, representing a beautiful example of medieval architecture. On the way to the island, you can take a walk through the picturesque port of the city, Marina di Brindisi. Another fortification construction bears the name Bastione San Giacomo. Today, this building belongs to NATO; that is why it is impossible to get inside it. However, anybody can stop to appreciate the building from afar.

Picturesque views open up from the Porto di Brindisi; you should definitely arrange a walk for yourself here as a bonus. Nearby you can find a palace, called Palazzo Granafei Nervegna, which is obligatory to visit. The palace was built in the 16th century in the “Renaissance” style. This is however not the most remarkable thing about it – the fact is that today there is a museum there, where many fragments of Roman buildings, antique sculptures and ceramics have been preserved. Nearby is the Area Archeologica di San Pietro degli Schiavoni, from where many ancient artifacts were found. A little closer to the Colonne Romane, you can come across Portico dei Cavalieri Templari. This is what remains from the Knights Templar, and the arch is the entrance to the Museo Archeologico Provinciale “Francesco Ribezzo”.
