Car Rental in Reykjavik

Convertible rental in Reykjavik

The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Iceland are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Reykjavik require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Iceland is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Reykjavik and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Reykjavik, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Iceland!

Previous hints
Local petrol stations sell diesel fuel and unleaded gasoline (95 and 98). There are no gas refueling stations in Iceland. Motorists also should take into account that in Iceland it is forbidden to carry petrol in cans.
Don’t forget that petrol is rather expensive at local petrol stations. The cost of a liter of fuel is approximately 2 euro. The quality of many secondary roads leaves much to be desired, so petrol consumption is usually quite large.
The majority of petrol stations are self-service ones, so the payment for fuel is done through the machine. As a rule, these machines accept both cash and bank cards.
