Car Rental in Zakynthos

Convertible rental in Zakynthos

The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Greece are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet and Audi A3 Convertible.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Zakynthos require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Greece is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Zakynthos and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Zakynthos, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Greece!

Driving Advices for Greece – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
The road that links Patras and Corinth is usually marked as a highway in maps, but in fact it is not. The Patras – Corinth route is laid along the bay and is considered one of the most extreme roads in the country.
Truckers are the main danger on this road. They make very dangerous overtaking and other maneuvers, and even very experienced drivers find it hard to keep driving safely under such a pressure.
A large part of petrol stations, located along the country roads, are open until 19:00. Petrol stations that work round the clock can be found in big cities and close to large and busy highways that connect large settlements.

Enjoying sights of Zakynthos in cabriolet
Charming and picturesque, Zakynthos will pleasantly surprise vacationers with the abundance of attractive landmarks. In 1953, the city was severely damaged during an earthquake. Because of that, a significant part of the buildings was destroyed. Thanks to the efforts of local people, gorgeous ochre-colored buildings in Venetian style and numerous historic landmarks were restored. Venetian fortress, which is located on a high hill, remains the main symbol of the city. It was built during the colonial period on the site of an ancient acropolis. Only a part of the original building, fragments of protective walls, and the gates have survived until now. Participants of the excursion can explore the fortress and admire the panorama of the city from a bird’s eye view.
St. Mark’s Square is located right at the foot of the hill. There are also several attractive sights not far from it. Don’t forget to attend the Church of St. George. Yet at the beginning of the 19th century, the church was regularly hosting important divine services and religious events. Solomos & Kalvos Museum, which is named after two great poets, is located nearby. Their statues are installed right in the center of the square. The monument has become the main decoration of the beautiful square.

Solomos Square enjoys a fantastic location in the heart of Zakynthos. In opinion of many, this is the most attractive neighborhood in the city. There are several important landmarks around the square, including the Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos, beautiful Church of St. Nicolas, and the city library. There are also many interesting landmarks in the immediate surroundings of Zakynthos. For example, vacationers shouldn’t forget to attend an excursion to the settlement of Volimes. There are several old churches and a gorgeous Venetian tower that has survived until our days in its original form.
