Car Rental in Chania

Convertible rental in Chania

The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Greece are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet and Audi A3 Convertible.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Chania require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Greece is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Chania and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Chania, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Greece!

Driving Advices for Greece – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Drivers, who are accustomed to following the speed limit, will find it quite difficult to drive on local roads without breaking traffic regulations. If a vehicle that follows your car wants to overtake, you should move as close to the right as possible and give way to that car. It is possible to overtake cars only on the left.
In large cities, there are many intersections with circular motion. Drivers, who are about to enter the intersection, have the advantage at such intersections. It is better to make such maneuvers steadily and slowly.
When leaving a car, do not leave any valuables in it. Even if you plan to leave your car on a guarded parking lot, do not rely on this fact very much as the possibility of losing valuables is still very high.

Enjoying sights of Chania in cabriolet

A pearl of Crete, this is a charming and a picturesque town, the rest in which will bring in a lot of new experiences. The old part of the town is particularly popular among tourists. Here you can walk along the port area and the waterfront, visit numerous restaurants and cafes, go to the eastern market or move to one of narrow streets, admiring old Venetian houses.

Agora market is one of main attractions of the old part of the town. The market was opened in 1911. The shopping rows here are covered and built in the shape of a cross. The market is strictly oriented to the cardinal. Another interesting market is called "Leather Quarter". As you might guess from the title, here you will find the largest choice of leather. If you have not found what you need, go to one of several sewing workshops located nearby and order clothing or shoes.

San Francisco Church is the main religious landmark of this place. Nowadays the church has been turned into Archaeological Museum. Just like many historic religious buildings of this town, the church was turned into a mosque during the Turkish conquest. Today bathing pools and a minaret remind of those times.
