Car Rental in Aalborg

Family car rental in Aalborg

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Denmark traditionally include the following vehicles: Mercedes C Class, Mercedes A Class, Toyota Avensis, Hyundai Sonata, Renault Scenic, Renault Megane and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Aalborg borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Aalborg might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Aalborg!

Driving Advices for Denmark – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Many parking lots also sell diesel fuel and unleaded gasoline (95 and 98). Gas refills are rare, so it is better to specify their location in advance. In Denmark, it is allowed to carry petrol in cans (up to 10 liters).
Many petrol stations have a self-service system of use. Large petrol stations are often combined with technical centers, but all extra services must be paid separately.
The vehicle must be equipped with a warning triangle. Drivers are also recommended to keep first aid kit and fire extinguisher in the car. The presence of such a thing as a reflective vest will also be very useful, because it is not permitted to leave a car at night without such a vest even in an emergency case.

Traveling in Alborg with family car
At the beginning of the 20th century, Aalborg became a major industrial center where some of the country's largest cement plants were located. Everything changed in 1974 when the University of Aalborg opened in the city. Now it is one of the largest Danish universities operating many research centers. As a result, the industrial sphere has lost its former relevance. Today, Aalborg is a major scientific and cultural center.

Walking through the city streets, one can notice a lot of amazing peculiarities. An unusual local symbol is window mirrors, which can be seen on many houses in the historic district. They are mounted on the outside of the windows and a bit reminiscent of modern car mirrors. Houses of the most senior and wealthy citizens were once located in Aalborg's historic streets. Due to their high social status, they couldn't just watch the streets out of their windows. Special mirrors were installed on their houses so that local nobles didn't have to look out of their windows like ordinary citizens. Some mirrors that can be found in today's historic district appeared here more than a hundred years ago. There is no longer a need for them, but our contemporaries do not intend to remove the unusual historical symbol from the old facades.
