Driving Advices for China – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Fast and chaotic traffic, numerous bicycles and motorbikes, and a complex web of streets – these are the main distinguishing features of roads in China. In addition to cars, motorcycles and scooters, you will see an incredible number of cyclists, rickshaws and bright buses, and absolutely everyone is in a hurry, caring mostly about themselves.
However, if you watch the traffic carefully at least for a couple of minutes, you may notice some similarities. Cyclists, cars and huge buses pass each other at high speed without any difficulty, even though road accidents are not rare on the roads of China.
For many years, bike has remained the most popular type of transport in China. In total, there are approximately 500 million bicycles in the country. Just to compare, the total number of vehicles used in the world is 400 million. More than one third of the country’s population uses the bicycle every day.

Rental, parking and other info on Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the main airport in the province of Guangdong. It’s located near its capital – Guangzhou. It handles over 66 million passengers a year and is the third busiest airport in the country by passenger and cargo traffic. Baiyun International Airport replaced the namesake airport that operated from 1932 to 2004. The modern airport started to serve passengers in 2004 when it substituted the previous one. There are three long runways and two passenger terminals at the airport. Terminal 1 consists of two concourses and the main terminal. Terminal 2 handles only domestic flights.

A high-speed highway connects the city and the airport. The airport has its own transportation centre situated to the south of T2. Here the guests can use metro, railway, bus route, taxi, and transfer services. A railway and metro (Line 3 “Airport South”) connect the airport with Guangzhou North and South railway stations. Express bus routes 1-10 regularly depart for different city districts and large capital hotels. A couple of city buses also stop at the airport. Taxi parking lots are situated next to exits from both of T1 concourses: A (Exit 8) and B (Exit 6). As for T2, taxis can be found near exits 50 and 52 there. It’s forbidden to use transportation network company apps at CAN. Read all...
