Car Rental in Toronto

Economy car rental in Toronto

The most popular models representing the mini, compact, and economy car segments in Toronto are: Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet Matiz, Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Aveo, Hyundai Accent, Toyota Yaris and others.

When hiring a budget hatchback, it is definitely worth saving on insurance deposit (franchise). Deposits on small cars in Canada vary from 100 to 1.000 euro/dollars. Check the rental conditions of each car in your selection to find a vehicle with a minimum deposit.

If your routes in Canada are foreseen to pass through hilly areas or mountains, it is not recommended to consider very small cars for rental. Their engines are usually insufficient for a confident driving on the roads with long or steep climbs.

At the rental office in Toronto, consider to take a 'Breakdown Assistance' package or ask an officer for a contact data to use in case of a vehicle breakdown. Cheap cars are sometimes unpredictable in operation.

Upon receipt of the rental invoice, please check that all the information, as well as the final payment amount do match the data in your voucher.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you a safe and great trip to Toronto!

Driving Advices for Canada – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Intersections with circular motion are a real rarity in Canada. They are simply considered ineffective here. On the other hand, «All-stop» type crossroads can be found literally everywhere in the country. The way of driving at such crossroads is described above.
It is really easy to get oriented on local roads because all of them have a unique number. Roads laid from north to south are marked with even numbers, and roads laid from west to east are marked with odd numbers. In addition to the number of the route, road signs always indicate the direction of motion, so it is almost impossible to get lost there.
Highways are very rare in Western Canada. The speed limit on the majority of roads is 80 km/h. The absence of a large number of paid roads is, without a doubt, the main advantage of the roads in this region.
