Car Rental in Ottawa

Convertible rental in Ottawa

The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Canada are: Chrysler Sebring Convertible, Ford Mustang Convertible and VW Eos Convertible.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Ottawa require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Canada is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Ottawa and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Ottawa, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Canada!

Driving Advices for Canada – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
In Canada, one can often see crossroads that have «STOP» signs on all sides, or crossroads with red flashing signal of a traffic light. At such an intersection, the car that has arrived first and has stopped completely has the prerogative. Do not forget to give way to pedestrians.
When a driver has approached the intersection at the same time with another car, the car on the right moves first. In this situation, the concept of “the hindrance on the right” is important.
The presence of special traffic lights is one of the main features of the road infrastructure in Canada. These traffic lights are significantly different from the traffic lights familiar to many motorists. Local traffic lights have a greater number of signals, so in addition to stationary signals there are also flashing signals.

Enjoying sights of Ottawa in cabriolet
Be sure to explore Little Ray's Nature Centre, a small zoo where you can see turtles, lizards, snakes, chameleons, crocodiles, spiders. Some animals are allowed to be held in hands and fed, which is the most enjoyable part of the tour. Thrill-seekers and those missing the feeling of an adrenaline rush should take a tour from No Boundaries X-Treme Adventures, thanks to which you can try bungee and rope jumping, fly- and wakeboarding, zipline, rock climbing. And since all this happens during the tour, quality training is provided before each session. It is worth noting that much attention is given to safety measures.

Another great place to be visited by tourists is Grand Prix Breeders Equestrian Centre, where they can learn to ride a horse through the picturesque areas in Ottawa and its surroundings. It is also worth checking out some workshops where you can acquire many useful skills - for example, learn Canadian-style cooking. Just go to C'est Bon Cooking and Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute, where, among other things, you will learn a lot of new interesting things about Canadian gastronomic traditions. Cold War nuclear bunker tours are of special interest, too. The most interesting one is Diefenbunker: Canada's Cold War Museum.
