Minivan rental in Sofia

Typical models of the minivan/minibus class in Sofia are: Toyota Previa, Toyota Minibus, Citroen Picasso, Citroen Jumper 8 seater, Citroen C8 Tdi, VW Touran and others.

Standard capacity of a minivan in Bulgaria is up to 9 people (8+1 formula), traditionally providing seven or eight passenger seats. The capacity of a minibus may vary from 9 to 15 people.

Please note, that in order to rent in Bulgaria a vehicle with capacity which exceeds 8 passengers, you would need a driving license of the corresponding category.

Minivan dimensions are quite unusual for an ordinary driver, which sometimes leads to appearance of scratches and dents during unsuccessful manoeuvring or parking. Therefore, we encourage you to order full coverage of insurance franchise during your booking, or directly at the rental office in Sofia.

Before leaving the parking garage in Sofia, inspect the minivan for exteriour defects and other signs of damage together with the office representative and mark the found defects found in your rental documents.

Previous hints
In major cities of the country, there are the so-called "blue zones" that have the appropriate markings. Such parking lots are very widespread in Sofia. Drivers are allowed to leave a car there for no longer than 2 - 4 hours, depending on the type of parking.
Many parking lots have special parking staff. You can easily recognize these people because they wear bright orange uniform. The staff helps finding a free space at the parking lot and also charges the fee for the parking service. It is also possible to pay for the services of some parking lots with your mobile phone by sending an SMS to a specific number, but foreign guests are recommended to use traditional methods of payment for parking just to make sure the payment is done.
Note that it is always very hard to find a free parking space in the center of large cities. Therefore, many experienced drivers prefer to leave the car parked in a suburban area, then get to the downtown by public transport. It should be noted that this solution is also quite advantageous in terms of cost.

Bulgaria's capital, Sofia is a city rich in history, many notable places and spectacular natural landscapes.

In the center of town is located Slaveykov Square, from which diverge beautiful boulevards and avenues in different directions just like sun rays. The city’s downtown is a pedestrian zone, so nothing will prevent tourists and local residents from unhurried walks and enjoying the magnificence of the local nature. There are also several office buildings around the square. These are the real examples of modern architecture.

Those, who like shopping, should go to Vitosha Boulevard, which is considered the main shopping street of the city. In addition to shops and souvenir outlets you will find here several cozy restaurants and cafes. While walking, you'll be truly surprised to see such a large number of monuments right at every step.
St. George Church is the symbol of the "Old Sofia", which was built in the 6th century. During its 15 century-long history the building has been reconstructed many times. In the 16th century it was even converted into a mosque by the Turks. Today the church is decorated with magnificent frescoes, which imprint the most important historical events and images of saints. Alexander Battenberg Square is also the right location for visitors who enjoy seeing architectural places of interest. Church of St. Nicholas is surely the main decoration of this place. The building of the royal palace is located just opposite to the church. The palace is surrounded by gigantic trees and flower beds. This city is also home to one of the main Christian churches - St. Sophia Cathedral. The construction of this building was started by the Romans in the 7th century. Nowadays only the floor of the church decorated with mosaics reminds of those times. The facade and rooms have been rebuilt several times, leading to a unique combination of various architectural trends.
