Car Rental in Sao Paulo

Family car rental in Sao Paulo

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Brazil traditionally include the following vehicles: Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevrolet Impala, Oldsmobile Alero, Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Avensis, Nissan Primera and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Sao Paulo borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Sao Paulo might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Sao Paulo!

On some streets, you may see large white signs with a red cross and the letter “Eâ€. This means that parking a car on this street is prohibited. The sign may also contain additional information. Quite often it is prohibited to park only from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and only on weekdays.
If a parking lot has a sign with the “azul†mark, this means that only holders of a special card are allowed to use it. You can purchase this parking card in any newspaper or tobacco shop. The cost of the card depends on the number of parking hours on its account.
The cost of the 1 hour parking card is approximately US$2. Using the card is easy – simply write down your time of arrival to the parking lot and put the card under the windshield. Many parking lots that are operated by the “azul†card have the maximum time of parking of two hours.

Rental, parking and other info on Sao Paulo Congonhas - Airport
Congonhas International Airport is located not far from the centre of Sao Paulo city in Brazil. It became operational in 1936. The airport got its name from the neighbourhood it lies in, as the ancient city of Congonhas used to be situated here. It is the second busiest airport of Brazil. The passenger traffic makes up approximately 17 million people a year. Nowadays the airport is meant for regional and domestic flights. It has two runways, beside which the only terminal of the airport is placed. The arrangement of the terminal is simple enough, so it is easy to understand where to go.

You can get from the airport to the city (or vice versa) using the shuttle services with the help of the online service of the airport or by taxi. Buses connect Congonhas Airport with another international one, which is Guarulhos International Airport. One can reach the Blue Line of the urban underground (Sao Judas station) from the airport by bus. Passengers get into taxis and cars at the second level of the arrival area. As for buses, people get on them at the ground level of the terminal.

The number of the offices of both famous and regional car rental companies is situated beside the airport. These are Alamo, Hertz, Budget, Movida, Unidas, Focus Car Rental, Brasilia Rent A Car, Rentalcars, National, Localiza, and Foco. The customers of most vehicle hire firms receive their leased cars in the airport terminal or in the car rental centre, where all the major car rental companies are presented (Rentalcars, Alamo, Movida, Localiza, and National). The vehicle rental office is found behind the ticket sales area, next to Gate 1, leading to the landing zone.

The majority of car rental offices do not operate round the clock, but having notified the company of the arrival time in advance you will be able to receive a vehicle. It is advisable to find out the work schedule and working conditions of the selected company in good time.

Such firms as Foco, meet their clients at the airport and take them to the place where they will be able to hire and receive a vehicle. The companies pick up customers near the staircase at the end of the sidewalk, behind the exit gate of the arrival hall. Budget provides a free bus to the parking Read all...
Traveling in Sao Paulo with family car
Sao Paulo is the undercover capital of Brazil and its economic center. Originally the city was considered the territory and the home of the Indians, but after the depletion of land resources in Rio de Janeiro the population of this place began to grow. In the end of XVIII century the refugees from Italy and Japan started moving to Sao Paulo, creating plantations of coffee and cotton in the city’s suburbs.

Modern Sao Paulo is the industrial metropolis of skyscrapers that reminds of the old Chicago. However, despite numerous grey buildings you can always find seclusion in Sao Paulo if you visit the magnificent Ibirapuera Park or enjoy planted green areas Alameda Santos and Morumbi. You will feel the true spirit of history if you visit the City Museum of Art, which presents the history of art in its chronological order, including a Roman marble statue created in the II century BC. Here you will also find a collection of paintings by Modigliani, Bosch, Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Vlaminck, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Leger and other famous artists. Tourists may also enjoy visiting Ipiranga Imperial Museum, Museum of Art and the Butanta Institute – the museum of reptiles.
