The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Belgium are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Charleroi require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Belgium is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Charleroi and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Charleroi, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Belgium!

Driving Advices for Belgium – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
In the city, petrol stations usually work from 8am to 8pm, so drivers should think about filling the tank in advance. Convenience petrol stations can be found only near highways.
Drivers are recommended to keep a reflective vest in the car. Despite the fact that it is not included in the list of mandatory items, it is prohibited to get out of the car without a vest in case of a sudden breakdown on the road. The penalty for breaking this rule is from 50 to 1,500 euro.
Using and even carrying radar detectors is considered one of the most serious traffic violations. If the prohibited device is found during the inspection, it will be confiscated immediately. The driver, who was using or carrying the device, will have to pay a large fine and may be imprisoned for the period from 15 to 90 days.

Enjoying sights of Charleroi in cabriolet
The city’s station, which is located in downtown, is one of the main attractions of Charleroi. It also hosted and Exchange Passage, which became once the country's first shopping arcade. The neoclassical St. Anthony Church is also located in the downtown. You will also enjoy your walk on the picturesque pedestrian Rue de la Montagne. Built in 1936, Hotel de Ville City Hall is topped by the bell tower (74m), and its 47 carillon bells perform a popular melody every 15 minutes. Despite its “young” age this bell tower is included into World Heritage property list by UNESCO.
Among the museums of the city we should definitely advise Archaeological Museum, Museum of Glass, Museum of Photography, Museum of Fine Arts, and more. The latter one exhibits best works of the natives of this city.

The guests of the city are also recommended to explore its surroundings. Monceau-sur-Sambre Castle built in XVII century will be particularly interesting to visitors. However, you can only explore the outside decoration of the castle as entering it is prohibited.
