Car Rental in Vienna

Family car rental in Vienna

The segments of standard, intermediate and full-size cars in Austria traditionally include the following vehicles: Toyota Camry, Saab 9-3, Nissan Maxima, Mercedes C Class, BMW 3 Series, Renault Megane and others.

The process of a car reservation on OrangeSmile.com consists of 3 simple steps: (1) search by the dates and pick-up location, (2) car type selection, and (3) booking form completion. After the booking, you will receive a rental voucher at your e-mail address.

Before selecting a specific model to book, check your planned routes. If you are going to drive mostly within the Vienna borders, choose a car of 'Standard' or 'Compact' types. In case you plan long cross-countries trips or mountain adventures, the more comfortable and powerful 'Fullsize' models would become a better choice.

If you need a car with an automatic gearbox, try to make a reservation at least a few days before the pick-up date, since confirmation of such models in Vienna might be delayed for a day or two.

Upon the return of your car, carefully check that the total payment amount (invoice) is computed according to the original rental conditions.

We wish you 'smooth', secure and safe roads in Vienna!

In the territory of settlements cars can move with the speed of up to 50 km/h, and on motorways the maximum permitted speed is 100 km/h. On autobahns in the daytime it is possible drive at a speed of 130 km/h, and at night (the period between 22:00 and 5:00) the maximum speed should be 110 km/h. The speeding fine depends on how much you have exceeded the maximum allowed speed with the minimum fine being 20 euro.
If the road has zig-zag yellow markings, that means it is not allowed to park a car on this part of the road. In winter, it is not possible to leave the car on the road that has tram tracks. The reason for that restriction is the fact that in winter these roads are cleaned carefully.
On weekdays, in the period between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm all parking spaces in settlements are paid. On Saturday, during the period from 9:00 to 13:00 only parking lots located in the downtown are paid, and on Sundays it is possible to park for free.

Traveling in Vienna with family car
If trendy and stylish clothes is what you need, Mariahilfer Strasse is the place to go. There are many shops with clothes for young fashionistas. Members of different subcultures will also find suitable trading pavilions there. All shops are quite affordable and offer a wide range of Austrian shoes. Females are usually in love with lingerie shops that are open on that street. Of course, there are shops that offer classic clothes and accessories. Inexpensive national cuisine restaurants are one more advantage of Mariahilfer Strasse.
Naschmarkt is one of the most authentic and attractive markets in Vienna. Local farmers offer fresh and organic food there. Fans of homemade cheese and sausages will definitely enjoy their visit to Naschmarkt. By the way, some meat delicacies are impossible to find in any other market in Vienna. The market is a wonderful place to try inexpensive street food, but many travelers come to the market with one purpose – to buy interesting souvenirs. It’s particularly interesting to visit Naschmarkt on Saturday when a flea market opens there.

Without a doubt, Ringstrassen Gallerien is one of the most popular shopping centers in the Austrian capital. It’s the location of more than 60 shops by different brands, including popular designer boutiques. At Ringstrassen Gallerien, you will find not only clothes and shoes, but also several fantastic pavilions with watches and jewelry.
