Foreign drivers should be especially careful when traveling on suburban routes. As it has been noted above, only some roads in the country are paved. Moreover, country roads are often very narrow. In poor visibility conditions road accidents occur very often because drivers simply don’t see oncoming cars.
Local petrol stations usually sell two types of gasoline - premium and regular. When going to a petrol station, make sure you stock up on large amount of cash – local petrol stations do not accept other forms of payment. At some petrol stations, there is even no cashier and money for petrol should be given to the employee on duty.
Quality petrol can be purchased in large cities only. Consequently, experienced drivers do not recommend refueling at provincial petrol stations. Fuel here is not of the best quality, and some suburban petrol stations sell it in bottles and cans.
