Tuapse is notable not only for its wonderful beaches and sanatoriums, but also for its interesting cultural attractions. In 1946, the Poletaev Local History Museum was opened. The initiators of opening the culture center were the locals. Most of the museum exhibits are dedicated to the feature of local flora and fauna. In the museum, you can also see interesting archeological and ethnographic exhibits, most of which are dedicated to crafts. One of the most important events in the city history is the Great Patriotic War. The Defense Museum of Tuapse is dedicated exactly to this tragic period. In this museum, there is the Memorial Hall of the Victims and several themed exposures. Here, you can see weapons used in wartime, military awards of that period, and eminent soldiers’ personal items. The museum is not distinguished by its impressive scopes. Its main visitors are local people and tourists with children. In the surroundings of Tuapse, there is a big dolphinarium called AquaMir. Interesting performances with dolphins, sea lions and bears are daily held. This dolphinarium is notable for its unusual and striking shows. At certain hours, everyone can swim with dolphins in the pool. You can also have a picture with wonderful sea dwellers taken. Near it, there is the water park called Dolphin. It was opened in 1997. This outdoor water park is one of the first in Russia. Now, children of all ages and adults will find here entertainments to their likings.
